Description

The Ensign Double-8 camera is a bedless strut folding camera for 3 x 4 cm pictures on 127 rollfilm. It is called the Double-8 because it can take 16 exposures on standard 8 exposure film. It is marked inside rear as being made by Houghton-Butcher Mfg Co Ltd.

The covering is in good order on this example. Note that the pattern on the covering is similar to that used on the Mickey Mouse camera of the same era.

The metalwork on this example is generally good - the only wear is on the opening latch for camera back. The viewfinder is in good order and the bellows appear sound. The face plate is a little pitted due to age.

Notes

This camera is uncommon and examples that appear can often be in quite poor condition.
